Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Bryce Mendes, 26, of Real Sociedad.
“Tottenham are looking closely at a move for Mendes as they look to bolster their squad,” Spanish outlet Sport reported on Thursday.
Tottenham have been performing well this season. After 10 games in the league, they are unbeaten with eight wins and two draws, leading the table ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City.토토사이트
A solid midfield has been the driving force behind their rise. Tottenham’s midfield combination of James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, and Pape has been perfectly balanced and has energized the team.
Now they’re looking to add depth. Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou is on the lookout for new additions to expand his attacking options alongside Son and Maddison.
Mendes has emerged as a potential signing. Mendes has caught the eye of Tottenham this season with five goals and five assists in 14 games across all competitions.
His versatility is also a plus. He can play as an attacking midfielder, a right winger, and a frontline striker, which is exactly what Postecoglou is looking for.
He has also received positive reviews in Spain. “Mendes is considered the best midfielder in Spain at the moment. Many fans are increasingly clamoring for his return to the Spanish national team.”
A move to Tottenham is not out of the question. Mendes’ contract with Sociedad includes a €60 million ($84.4 million) buyout clause. According to the report, Tottenham will try to sign Mendes via a buyout.
A deal could happen as early as the winter transfer window. Spurs are seriously considering bringing in Mendes in the winter transfer window, before competition from other clubs increases.
