“It’s interesting after this, the Yankees like it a lot…” 50 million dollars? You have to use a lot to win San Francisco

The New York Yankees are poised to acquire free agents Cody Bellinger (28) or Jung-Hoo Lee (25) to bolster their batting order, apart from trading Juan Soto (25, San Diego Padres). The most formidable opponent is the San Francisco Giants. If they want to catch San Francisco, they’ll have to spend big.

NJ.com published a conversation between its reporters on Aug. 22 (KST). The topic was the Yankees’ offseason. While the team has distanced itself from pursuing free agent Shohei Ohtani (29), it has expressed interest in Yoshinobu Yamamoto (25), Bellinger, and Jung-Hoo Lee.굿모닝토토

“The Yankees need an impact bat,” said Randy Miller. Whether they sign Yamamoto or not, they need to hit for power. He was 21st in the majors in batting average against left-handed pitching this season and 28th in the majors in batting average against left-handed hitters. We need a guy to raise his average. He needs to see more balls and strike out less. There’s not a lot of that on the Yankees roster.”

He sees Lee as a player who can do that. “I’m intrigued by Lee, a left-handed center fielder who played seven years in South Korea and hit .340. He’s a lot cheaper than Belinjon Soto. MLB TradeRumors thinks Lee will sign for five years and $50 million.”

Bob Klapisch said, “The Yankees like Lee a lot, and he’s been the subject of a lot of internal discussions.” Then Miller said, “I love that Lee is hitting for average and striking out so little. Last year, he hit .318 with 23 strikeouts in 330 at-bats. His OPS was .860. I know Korea is not the same as the major leagues, but I think his game will transfer to the big leagues.”

It seems unlikely that Lee and Bellinger will end up on the same team. Bellinger’s price tag is likely to be higher, and teams that lose the Bellinger battle will likely go all in on Lee. At $50 million, there is no guarantee that they will be able to sign Lee. If you want him, you’ll have to be prepared to spend a lot of money, including the cost of his post on Kiwoom Heroes.

Kiwoom president Ko Hyung-wook said the club is almost done with its posting duties. It’s been 10 days since the Korean Series ended, and now it’s time for the postseason. How many teams will participate? San Francisco and the Yankees will feel cheated if they don’t post.
