Gyeongnam improved its chances of qualifying for the playoffs with a dramatic 1-1 draw against Gimcheon on Nov. 11. Gimcheon pressured the goal from the start, but Go Dong-min made a great save. Gimcheon’s Kim Jin-gyu, Lee Yoo-hyun, and Lee Young-joon threatened throughout the first half, but Go Dong-min saved the day for Gyeongnam. Gyeongnam conceded a goal to Gimcheon in the 10th minute of the second half, but in the 41st minute, Park Min-seo finished the ball from a corner kick for a dramatic equalizer. Gimcheon’s offense continued until the last minute of the second half, but Ko Dong-min made another save and the game ended in a draw.
Gyeongnam’s goalkeeper, Ko Dong-min, was honored as the MOM of the match for her outstanding performance. “I was lucky to make back-to-back saves today,” said Ko Dong-min in the post-match interview. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t win our last regular season home game, but I’m glad that the players didn’t give up and kept fighting for a draw.
